Grains Quiet in the Early Morning Trade

Grains were uniformly higher on Thursday, for the first time in what seems like a lifetime.  That has not materialized into any follow-through. Here are the levels to keep an eye on into the weekend.

Corn

Market Recap

Technicals (December)
December corn futures were able to turn Wednesday’s reversal into some follow through momentum in yesterday’s trade, taking prices back to our pivot pocket from 407 1/2-410. As mentioned yesterday morning, this is a big resistance barrier, the Bulls need to see consecutive closes out above this pocket to try to turn the tide some. Regardless if it gets out above there, hopefully this puts us into an environment where we can at least see some more back and forth trade (vs the slow bleed lower that we saw for the better part of the last two weeks.

Technical Levels of Importance

Support: 399-401***, 383-387**

Performance Disclaimer

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. In fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program.

One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points that can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program that cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
