A healthy correction in cattle yesterday. Will it setup for a buying opportunity?

Live Cattle
Technicals (February – G)
The market stalled out against trendline resistance and our pivot pocket, which is a healthy in our opinion. The Bulls will want to see a close above that pocket to help solidify a bottom in the markets. A potential tailwind to propel prices higher this morning would be the broad-based risk-on trade that we’ve seen in the outside markets following yesterday’s Federal Reserve meeting.
This morning’s weekly export sales report showed net sales of 10,600 MT for 2023 were up noticeably from the previous week and up 67 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Resistance: 172.40-172.55***, 174.75-175.25***
Pivot: 168.00-168.50
Support: 166.25**, 162.25-162.60***

Feeder Cattle
Technicals (January – F)
January feeder cattle futures saw a healthy pause in yesterday’s trade and were able to defend our pivot pocket while doing so, keeping it intact from 216.40-218.00. The Bulls will want to defend this pocket on a closing basis to keep the technicals in their good graces.
Resistance: 223.00-224.52***, 232.20-233.50***
Pivot: 216.40-218.00
Support: 209.00-210.00**

Lean Hogs
Technicals (February – G)
February lean hogs traded lower yesterday but were able to defend the lows from November 28th. Despite an ugly looking chart, this isn’t a bad risk/reward setup for those who have a bullish bias. This morning’s weekly export sales report showed net sales of 28,200 MT for 2023 were up 9 percent from the previous week and 15 percent from the prior 4-week average.
Resistance: 74.00-74.500***
Pivot: 71.50-72.00
Support: 67.15-67.80***, 65.40-65.67**
